to Bidder-Up's homepage. I am Loy Gooszen, president, founder and auctioneer for
the firm. One of my fondest memories is helping my father work the
livestock auctions in western Oklahoma where I grew up. For me nothing
could surpass the excitement and action of those sales. Although I went on
to become a CPA with an MBA, have been CEO of a contracting company for over 25
years and have an insurance, real estate and securities license, I still worked
in the auction business managing sales and bid spotting for a local firm up
until their close in the early 80's. At that time, I attended the
Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in North Carolina and was named "Most
Likely to Succeed" for the class graduated May 1985. In competition I was
named Oklahoma Auctioneer of the year in 2003. I have done
everything from equipment auctions for the state's park department to small
estate sales and charity work for local country clubs to the National Literacy
Council.
